IP Workshop at Renmin University

IP Workshop 2015

On Saturday 17th October 2015, GBCC organized an IP workshop for the Shanghai Free Trade Zone focusing on ‘Parallel Imports and Exhaustion of Rights’.

Professor GUO He, Deputy Dean, IP Academy of Renmin University of China Law School and Professor Duncan Matthews, Chair in IP Law, Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) were invited to be keynote speakers. The former gave an overview of the key issues regarding parallel imports and OEM exports in the SFTZ, the latter gave a presentation on the issues from a European perspective.

Prof Spyros Maniatis and Prof Ioannis Kokkoris from Centre for Commercial Law Studies, QMUL also commented on the issues.

The workshop was well attended by IP academics, IP courts’ judges and research students.
