The 7th UK-China Leadership Forum, on the theme of “UK-China 2020: Partnership for Growth, Prosperity and Reform” was attended by a 17-strong Chinese delegation led by Vice-Minister Yu Hongjun of the International Department of the Communist Party.  Minister of State Hugo Swire, four members of the House of Lords, nine MPs and a deputy governor of the Bank of England led a UK team of 30, supported by six GBCC Board members and four GBCC staff.

Meetings were held before the Forum with Business Secretary Vince Cable and with the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, at No 11 Downing St. The Shadow Foreign Secretary, Douglas Alexander MP, also met with the delegation. A briefing on London as a global metropolis was arranged at City Hall with Dr Gerard Lyons, chief economic adviser to the Mayor of London.

The 2014 Ditchley Park Forum was generously supported by Barclays Capital and BP plc.

As there was no Forum in 2013, there will be two this year, with the next one taking place in China in late autumn 2014.
